About the Founder
Founded by
Dr Abigal Muchecheti is the founder of the AFN Knowledge Hub. She is an independent scholar, author and Honorary Fellow at the University of Leicester, whose work examines race, gender, disability, exclusion and knowledge production.
The Hub grew from a simple question: what is the value of knowledge if the people whose histories and experiences it concerns cannot easily find, access or engage with it?
Created to help bridge the distance between academic knowledge and public knowledge, the AFN Knowledge Hub brings together scholarship, books, archives and intellectual work from Zimbabwe, Africa and the global Black diaspora in one accessible and discoverable space.

Our Access Model
We respect intellectual property and authors' rights. Our catalogue handles records in these specific ways:
- READ OPEN ACCESS: For works that are legally available as Open Access on institutional repositories or publisher websites, we provide the metadata/catalogue entry and link the reader directly to the official authorised external source. We do not host these files ourselves.
- PUBLISHER / EXTERNAL: For commercial or copyrighted works, we act solely as a discovery catalogue. We display bibliographic data and link the user directly to the publisher to view, purchase, or access the work.
Takedown Policy
If you are an author, publisher, or other rights holder and you believe that material has been catalogued on the AFN Knowledge Hub without appropriate permission or in violation of copyright, please report it to us immediately.
